Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Machu Picchu Full Day.

Pre-trek briefing:
You will have thorough briefing with your guide 1 day before your Machu Picchu One Day Tour.

Your guide will meet you at your hotel and you can take this opportunity to ask questions and make any final preparations.

Day 1 – Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu
In the morning, at 4:30am we pick you up from your hotel and transfer your to a train station (either at Poroy station, which is 30 minutes far away from Cusco or at Ollantaytambo station which takes 1 hour and 40 minutes from Cusco), to start our Machu Picchu One Day Tour.

There you board a train and travel for about 1 hour 45 minutes experiencing spectacular changeable landscapes passing through lush fields and colourful villages placed on the foothill of the Andes. The highlight of the way are wonderful views of mountains and the marvellous Urubamba River that runs through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. In the end, you reach Aguas Calientes, a town just below Machu Picchu, where our Representative welcomes you at the railway station to accompany you to a bus stop. There you get on a shuttle bus taking you up to the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu following a zigzag path for about 25 minutes.

Once in Machu Picchu, your Tour Guide introduces you the most important attractions of this antique Incan site such as its main square, the Sun Temple, Intiwatana (Sun Clock), the Royal Rooms, the Temple of the Three Windows and the Royal Incas Cemetery. This guided tour takes about 3 and half an hour and then you are given time off to explore around the complex and to climb Huayna Picchu (or Machu Picchu Mountain) to take some amazing panoramic photos of Machu Picchu. So please do not forget your camera and enjoy the visit of the “One of the New 7 Wonders of the World”

When you have enjoy the site enough, you take a shuttle bus down to Aguas Calientes where you can have lunch (not included in the package) in one of many lovely restaurants offering traditional Andean as well as international cuisine. Afterwards, you can visit the thermal baths of Aguas Calientes or the Museum of the Site (neither entrance of these is included in the package).

In the afternoon, we take a train back to Ollantaytambo (alternatively to Poroy) where our driver expects us in front of the train station to transfer us to Cusco

Me recibió en mi hotel, y fue una experiencia perfecta conseguir boletos de autobús y llegar al sitio.  Verified Love Cachi Life! My mom and I had a private 3 nights /4day Salkantay trek with Cachi Life. Upon booking our trip (while in Canada) David was very helpful through WhatsApp and email. He answered all my questions and sent pictures of the tickets for Machu Picchu in advance. Before the trek, David arrived at our hotel in Cusco with our guide and gave us a great briefing about what to expect for the trek. The trek with our guide, Adrian was amazing. Adrian, our cook and horseman were kind and helpful throughout the whole trip. They always ensured we were happy.  Verified Excellent guide and tour with Cachi Life! We had the most wonderful two days with our Cachi Life guide, Franklin, touring Sacred Valley (Moray, Maras, Chinchero, Ollantaytambo and Machu Pichu). He was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and had a clear love for his country which helped us learn and appreciate the things we were seeing and the lands we were standing on. He took his time to point out details that we would have never noticed had we decided to tour on our own. We never felt rushed through any of the sites and he took the time to answer our questions (especially our son who had so many questions!!). David, the owner of Cachi Life, is also Franklins brother. It was nice to know we were working with a local owned company. David was also very responsive to our questions while we were planning.
