Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Reception in Lima, the capital of Peru.
Begin your adventure with your arrival in the city of Lima.
We will be waiting for you at Lima’s international airport to transfer you to your hotel.
Take a stroll through the streets of Miraflores, one of Lima’s most popular and touristic districts. Visit the boardwalk (Malecón), where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.
Overnight in Lima.
Day 02: Tour of the City of Lima and view of the Illuminated Fountains.
Breakfast at your hotel.
In the morning, we’ll pick you up from your hotel to begin a guided city tour of Lima.
Our first stop will be Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca pyramid built in the 4th century by an ancient coastal civilization.
You’ll then visit the Museum of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru, where you’ll find a remarkable collection of artifacts from pre-Inca cultures, including gold, silver, ceramics, and textiles that reflect Peru’s rich ancestral heritage.
Next, enjoy a guided walk through Lima’s Main Square (Plaza Mayor), surrounded by colonial landmarks such as the Lima Cathedral, the Municipal Palace, and the Government Palace.
A highlight of the tour is a visit to the San Francisco Convent, famous for its underground catacombs — a fascinating network of tunnels filled with thousands of bones carefully arranged in geometric patterns.
Continuing through the modern side of the capital, we’ll head to the Miraflores boardwalk, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean.
At the end of the city tour, we will drop you off at your hotel.
Evening: Visit the Magic Water Circuit.
In the evening, you’ll visit the Magic Water Circuit, a spectacular park filled with illuminated fountains synchronized with lights, music, and movement. Inaugurated in 2007, it holds the Guinness World Record for the largest fountain complex in the world.
Wander through its beautifully landscaped gardens and enjoy iconic fountains such as the Fountain of Wishes, Fountain of Traditions, Rainbow Fountain, Tunnel of Surprises, Magic Fountain, and the Fountain of Fantasy, where light and water come together in a stunning audiovisual show set to Peruvian music.
Overnight in Lima.
Day 03: Explore Paracas, enjoy Ica and have fun at the Huacachina Oasis in Ica.
We will pick you up very early from your hotel in private transportation for a 3-hour drive to the city of Paracas, located on the Pacific coast.
Upon arrival, you will board a boat at the Chaco pier to explore Paracas Bay. As you head out to sea, the ocean breeze and crashing waves will offer a feeling of pure freedom.
In the distance, you’ll spot the mysterious geoglyph known as the «Candelabra,» a large figure carved into the sand. It is believed to have been a navigational symbol, possibly created by pirates to be seen from far out at sea.
Continuing the boat tour, you’ll explore the Paracas National Reserve, home to diverse marine wildlife including sea lions and thousands of seabirds, especially guano birds.
After the tour, you’ll travel for about 1 hour and 30 minutes to the city of Ica. Here, you’ll visit a traditional vineyard where you’ll learn about the production process of Pisco, Peru’s national spirit. You’ll also enjoy a tasting and experience the region’s delicious gastronomy.
Next, get ready for an unforgettable adventure in the Huacachina Oasis — considered one of the most beautiful oases in the world.
Hop on a dune buggy and ride across the vast sand dunes. You’ll also try sandboarding — sliding down the dunes on a board, an exciting activity that will fill you with adrenaline. From the top of the dunes, take in the breathtaking view of the Huacachina Oasis.
At the end of the day, we’ll drive you back to Lima in private transportation (approximately 4 hours). Upon arrival, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel to enjoy a well-deserved rest.

Welcome to the archaeological capital of the Americas. Cusco is located in the heart of the Andes at an altitude of 3,350 meters above sea level. It was once the capital of the great Inca Empire.
Take time to stroll through its charming cobblestone streets, where Inca stonework blends seamlessly with colonial architecture. This first day is ideal for acclimatizing to the altitude, so you can fully enjoy the days to come.
Overnight in Cusco.
Day 05: Walk through the City of Cusco and the outskirts.
Breakfast at your hotel.
We will begin the tour by picking you up from your hotel and heading to Cusco’s main square (Plaza de Armas), where the city tour begins.
Your first visit will be to Koricancha, the most important temple during the Inca Empire, dedicated to the Sun God. This site once served as the political and religious center of the empire. Today, it is a museum showcasing the fine Inca stonework and exhibits dedicated to the main Inca deities.
Just 10 minutes outside the city, you’ll visit Sacsayhuaman, an impressive fortress built with massive stones, some weighing over 140 tons. The structure is laid out in the shape of a lightning bolt and consists of three layered terraces. It is one of the most awe-inspiring Inca constructions.
Next, you’ll visit Qenqo, a ceremonial site believed to have been used for rituals honoring Pachamama (Mother Earth). Its carved rock passages and altars make it a fascinating stop.
The tour continues to Pukapukara, a site with a strategic location that served as a military control center. From here, you can enjoy sweeping views of the Cusco valley.
Finally, you’ll explore Tambomachay, a temple dedicated to the worship of water — one of the most important elements in the Inca belief system. The site features aqueducts, canals, and waterfalls, believed to have had ceremonial functions.
Overnight in Cusco.
Day 06: Discover the Sacred Valley of the Incas with night in Aguas Calientes town.
Breakfast at your hotel.
Note: On this day, you will not return to Cusco for the night. Please pack a small backpack with everything you need for your overnight stay in Aguas Calientes.
Early in the morning, we’ll pick you up from your hotel to begin the tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Your first stop will be at the Taray Viewpoint, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the Sacred Valley.
Next, visit the Pisac Archaeological Site, famous for its impressive agricultural terraces where the Incas grew corn. You’ll also explore ancient Inca dwellings and see a mountainside cemetery.
Afterward, enjoy a walk through the town of Pisac, known for its vibrant artisan market. You’ll find a wide variety of traditional Cusco crafts made of gold, silver, glass, ceramics, wood, and beautiful handwoven textiles.
Continuing along the Vilcanota River, you’ll head to Urubamba, where you’ll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant featuring Andean and international cuisine, made with fresh local ingredients.
In the afternoon, visit the fascinating town of Ollantaytambo, where the Incas left behind a remarkable legacy. At the top of the archaeological complex lies an unfinished Sun Temple, showcasing massive stone blocks and exceptional Inca engineering.
You’ll have free time to explore this magical town, walking through its ancient stone streets and visiting local art galleries.
Later, you’ll head to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you’ll board a train for a scenic 1 hour and 45-minute ride to Aguas Calientes, located in the Vilcanota Basin.
Upon arrival, we’ll meet you at the train station and escort you to your hotel. Aguas Calientes is a small, walkable town with no cars, so take the opportunity to enjoy its peaceful atmosphere on foot.
Overnight in Aguas Calientes.
Day 07: Discover, explore and live, the day has arrived to tour Machu Picchu.
Breakfast at the hotel.
We will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the bus station, where you’ll board the shuttle bus from Aguas Calientes to the Machu Picchu archaeological site — one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The ride takes approximately 25 minutes along the scenic Hiram Bingham road.
Upon arrival, you’ll be accompanied by our professional tour guide, who will assist you with the entrance process to Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the very first step inside this sacred sanctuary, you’ll feel its powerful energy.
Your visit begins at the Guardian’s House, the iconic viewpoint from which the most famous panoramic photos of Machu Picchu are taken. From here, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the entire citadel — a truly unforgettable sight.
Together with your guide, explore the main areas of Machu Picchu, as you learn about its fascinating history. Your guide will also help you take memorable photos along the way.
You’ll visit the key sectors of the site, including the agricultural terraces, urban zone, and quarries, as well as sacred temples such as the Temple of the Three Windows, Priest’s House, Sacred Rock, Temple of the Condor, Mortar Temple, Temple of the Sun, and many other astonishing spaces that reveal the mastery of Inca architecture.
Before leaving, enjoy some free time to reflect, meditate, or simply absorb the majestic beauty of this place in harmony with nature.
At the scheduled time, take the return bus back to Aguas Calientes (25 minutes).
Once back in town, enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants, then return to your hotel to collect your belongings. You’ll then head to the train station to board your train.
The train journey takes about 2 hours and offers beautiful scenery, following the course of the river and showcasing the diverse flora and fauna of the region.
Upon arrival at the Ollantaytambo train station, our staff will be waiting to transfer you by private transport to your hotel in Cusco, a drive of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Overnight in Cusco.
Day 08: Continue discovering, now Moray and the Salineras Salt Mines.
Breakfast at the hotel.
You will leave early from your hotel and head toward Moray. Along the way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the majestic Andean mountain range, surrounded by incredible natural landscapes.
Your first visit is to the archaeological site of Moray, an impressive Inca construction believed to have been an agricultural research center. The Incas used this site to experiment with crops from different regions, taking advantage of the site’s circular, terraced design that creates microclimates. Its unique spiral shape and purpose make it a fascinating example of Inca ingenuity.
Next, you will visit the famous Maras Salt Mines (Salineras de Maras), where you’ll see more than 3,000 salt pools carved into the mountainside. Salt has been harvested here since Inca times using ancestral and artisanal techniques that continue to this day. It is a truly remarkable place that highlights both natural beauty and cultural tradition.
Overnight in Cusco.
Day 09: Explore the great Rainbow Mountain.
Note: Today, dress warmly and bring plenty of energy — it’s time for a real adventure.
We will pick you up from your hotel at 4:00 a.m. to begin the journey to Rainbow Mountain, part of the Andes mountain range. This natural wonder stands at an impressive 5,000 meters (16,404 ft) above sea level and reaching the summit requires both physical and mental strength — but we’ll be there to support you every step of the way.
From Cusco (3,350 m), you’ll travel approximately 2 hours to the town of Cusipata (3,310 m), where you’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast at a rustic local restaurant.
After breakfast, we’ll continue by vehicle for 1 more hour, passing through beautiful Andean landscapes and small farming villages, where you’ll see locals tending to their potato fields and herding llamas and alpacas. The drive ends in Chillihuani (4,500 m) — the starting point of the hike.
You’ll be accompanied by our experienced tour guide, and we’ll provide you with a walking stick to support you during the hike. As you set off, the cold becomes more noticeable, so be sure to bundle up. Surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery, the views are breathtaking.
The first part of the hike takes about 1 hour along relatively flat terrain with gradual inclines. Along the way, you’ll spot llamas and alpacas grazing in their natural habitat.
Take a deep breath — you’ve reached the base of the final, steep ascent. Before you lies Rainbow Mountain, but to enjoy the full panoramic view, you’ll need to climb to the viewpoint, known as the Winged Mountain. The final stretch takes about 30 minutes and is more demanding.
At the summit (5,000 m), you’ll be rewarded with a stunning view of the Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) in all its colorful glory. Despite the altitude and cold, you’ll feel an incredible sense of accomplishment. Don’t forget to take photos — you might even catch alpacas wandering nearby.
After some time at the top, you’ll descend the same path back to Chillihuani. The downhill trek takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
From there, the transport will take you back to Cusipata for a well-deserved lunch, before continuing the 2-hour drive back to Cusco.
Overnight in Cusco.
Day 10: End of the beautiful adventure, departure from the City of Cusco.

No sentimos que tuviéramos un viaje turístico, sino más bien una experiencia única e inolvidable con dos personas expertas y profesionales, enamoradas de su país ysu cultura. Gracias Cachi Life Perú, y especialmente David y Frank; nunca te olvidaremos!Posted on robynlucassVerified Love Cachi Life! My mom and I had a private 3 nights /4day Salkantay trek with Cachi Life. Upon booking our trip (while in Canada) David was very helpful through WhatsApp and email. He answered all my questions and sent pictures of the tickets for Machu Picchu in advance. Before the trek, David arrived at our hotel in Cusco with our guide and gave us a great briefing about what to expect for the trek. The trek with our guide, Adrian was amazing. Adrian, our cook and horseman were kind and helpful throughout the whole trip. They always ensured we were happy. The food was delicious, the trek was beautiful and the tent /sleeping bags were comfortable. We recommend Cachi Life for safe, fun and local experience.Posted on Pioneer277524Verified Excellent guide and tour with Cachi Life! We had the most wonderful two days with our Cachi Life guide, Franklin, touring Sacred Valley (Moray, Maras, Chinchero, Ollantaytambo and Machu Pichu). He was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and had a clear love for his country which helped us learn and appreciate the things we were seeing and the lands we were standing on. He took his time to point out details that we would have never noticed had we decided to tour on our own. We never felt rushed through any of the sites and he took the time to answer our questions (especially our son who had so many questions!!). David, the owner of Cachi Life, is also Franklins brother. It was nice to know we were working with a local owned company. David was also very responsive to our questions while we were planning. Our experience in sacred valley and Machu Pichu would not nearly be what it was without Franklin. Highly highly recommended Cachi Life!!Posted on tstewartVerified Gran viaje a Perú con la ayuda de Cachi Life! Me comuniqué con David con Cachi Life cuando comencé el proceso de planificación de nuestro viaje a Perú. David era tan agradable y me ayudó a incluir ver casi todo lo que queríamos en nuestro corto viaje de 7 días! ¡Él respondió a todas mis preguntas!
EXCELLENT Based on 6 reviews Posted on Re StTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Facebook. Gorąco polecam treking z Cachi Life. Cachi Life - sól życia - tak było🧡Posted on Nomadic-FilCan JGTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Facebook. I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone in this group who have been so incredibly helpful in answering my questions before I started my adventure. I truly appreciate each one of you! As I wrap up this unforgettable journey, I want to give a special shoutout to my amazing tour guide in Machu Picchu, David Aragon Villagra of Cachi Life. I had the best time with his service, and absolutely recommended to those looking for local guides. I chose to support locally owned businesses, which is why I booked the 2-day, 1-night Inka Trail to Machu Picchu. This experience allowed me to explore the stunning ruins along the way, including the breathtaking Wiñaywayna. David took care of everything—transportation, hotels, and all the necessary tickets for the tour—making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. What impressed me most was David's extensive knowledge. With years of experience under his belt, he is an expert guide who truly brings the history of the Incas and Peru to life. His insights into science and astronomy beautifully connect to Inca history and civilization, enriching my understanding of this magnificent country. I feel so fortunate to have learned so much from him, and I’m excited to share this knowledge and encourage others to experience the wonders of Peru for themselves. And if you're a foodie like me, be sure to ask David for his fantastic recommendations for local cuisine in Cusco—you won’t be disappointed! And yes David is a great photographer! My photos here are captured by him. Once again, thank you all for your support, and a huge thank you to David for making my adventure unforgettable! 🌄❤️Posted on Leah PumarenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Facebook. I have been in contact with so many tour operators but David from Cachi Life stood out! He was able to answer all my questions right away and all the information was explained well. When the time came to pay i was very hesitant because I didn't know him but have read all positive reviews from previous clients which gave me a peace of mind. I wanted to pay half but he said to just pay the deposit, which tells me that he will not run away with our $$ :) Prior to our arrival David informed us that Franklyn will be at the airport to pick us up, which they were and in time. Let’s just say that Franklyn and staff took care of us from start to finish! They were very accommodating, made sure we were comfortable, gave us coca leaves and other things so we don't suffer from acclimation. Because, i had issues with acclimation, Franklyn brought me oxygen, hiking sticks, carried our jackets, water and food which helped me climb Rainbow Mountain and Machu Picchu. Mind you, we have been to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska, UK, Iceland, Ireland, Bahamas, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Belize, Honduras, Doninican Republic, etc.. but because of Franklyn, Peru is the most beautiful place we have ever been. Thank you so much Franklyn, David and Cachi Life, you made impossible possible! If you want to tour Peru, make sure you hire Cachi Life to make your trip unforgettable!Posted on Brandon BellamyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Facebook. I have never met more dedicated people David and Kevin. They truly love what they do.Posted on Kevin KingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Facebook. My girlfriend and I were in Peru in March and Cachi set us up with a wonderful experience. David, our tour guide, is the guy you want. He's a true history buff and his years of experience really shows. We loved hearing about the history of Cusco, Peru, Machu Picchu, and the Incas. Seemed like David had an answer to every question we had! Plus, his English was great - a must have when spending money and time on a trip. Overall, Cachi provided us with everything we needed for our tour. Our shuttles, tour guide, and entry tickets to each place were included. WELL worth the price! We were also fortunate to meet the owners, who were great guys and walked us through everything we would get. Highly recommend Cachi if you're looking for a great, safe time in Peru!Posted on Lindsey ReneeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Facebook. Fortunately used Cachi Life for two different day tours during my stay in Peru. Took the vistadome/train/buses to Machu Picchu, and the process could not have been any smoother. They had everything perfectly coordinated to make the trip comfortable and easy to navigate. Also had the privilege of doing a tour in the local Rayan community, which was an amazing experience. David, our local tour guide was so passionate about his job and sharing with us the culture of his country. We hiked a mountain to the local community, offering beautiful views and a stellar waterfall. Spent the day learning how the families lived off the land and shared a meal with them that we helped them prepare. Would definitely recommend if you want to try something outside of the typical touristy things to do!
