Rainbow mountain or Vinicunca is one of the most breathtaking landscapes found in the Andes of Cusco. Vinincunca becomes more interesting with the red valley that you can visit on the way back.

Itinerary
Day 1: CUSCO – CUSIPATA – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN – RED VALLEY – CUSCO
CUSCO – CUSIPATA – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN – RED VALLEY – CUSCO
We pick you up from your hotel between 3:45 to 4:00 am, after pick up everyone we drive you towards Cusipata town for about 2 hours, once you arrive to the town we provide you breakfast and you can use toilets and stretch your legs. Then we continue one more hour to the trailhead which is Chilliwani where you start the hike up to Rainbow Mountain. Around 8:30 am you start the hike up to the Montaña de colores which is take about 1h/30min to 2 hours in the gradual uphill trail. Once you get there you will have time to listen the explain from guide, take pictures with the Rainbow Mountain with llamas and locals and enough time to enjoy the scenery. Time to get ready to go back to the vehicle that will take you back to Cusco.
YOU HAVE TWO RETURN OPTIONS.
If you like you can return by the same trail that you took to climb to the rainbow mountain or you can do something more interesting is return by the RED VALLEY.
If you want to return by the red valley our guide will come with you, It is a walk of about 1h/30 minutes back to the car but you will have the opportunity to enjoy wonderful landscapes especially if the weather is in your favor.
Once everybody meet at the car stop will return to Cusipata for a lunch and then 2 hours by car to return to Cusco, usually we get back to Cusco around 5:00 p.m.

RENTING RIDING HORSES TO DO THE RAINBOW MOUNTAIN:
Once you reach the starting point of the hike of RAINBOW MOUNTAIN. If you are not able to walk, you can rent horses to ride directly from the local comuneros, if you rent a horse you will have also a horseman.
Price is between 60 to 80 soles.

Terms of Reservation
Minimum 2 days before, minimum 2 people and the minimum age is 10 years.
Changes or upgrades are subject to 1.) availability and 2.) an extra charge as stated in our Terms and conditions.
Terms of Cancellation Terms of Cancellation
You can choose between 2 options that will affect the refund policy:
- Option 1: We purchase the tickets within 2 days prior to the start of the tour. You can receive a 95% refund if you cancel before we purchase them. Once the tickets are purchased, the fees below apply.
- Option 2: We purchase entrance tickets as soon as you book to guarantee the best tickets. You receive a partial refund when you cancel.Cancellation fees p. person: 5% administrative fee. The remaining amount will be refunded within 3 working days.
Postponement fees p. person: 5% administrative fee.
If you cancel 2 days or less before the start of the tour, there won’t be any refunds.
We don’t issue refunds in case of delayed flights, inconveniences with train schedules, bad weather or sudden strikes that affect the tour.
