Our routes range from moderate to challenging. You don’t need to be a professional athlete, but a healthy physical condition is required to hike 6 to 8 hours a day on uneven terrain.

We recommend arriving in Cusco at least 2 or 3 days before your trek starts to acclimate. Drinking plenty of water, avoiding heavy meals, and drinking coca tea are excellent ways to adapt.

The dry season (May to September) offers sunny days and cold nights. The rainy season (October to April) is greener but wet. Note: The Inca Trail is closed in February for maintenance.

Our chefs prepare fresh and nutritious meals at every campsite. We offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options at no extra cost; just let us know when booking.

Essentials: Broken-in hiking boots, layered clothing (thermal and lightweight), sunscreen, insect repellent, and a headlamp.

For the Classic Inca Trail, we recommend booking 4 to 6 months in advance. For Salkantay or traditional tours, 1 to 2 months is usually sufficient.
