Itinerary
DAY 1: CUSCO – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES
We will pick you up from your hotel between 10:00 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. for the one-hour-and-forty-minute drive from Cusco to the train station in Ollantaytambo. On our arrival, we will board the train for the two-hour scenic rail journey to the small town of Aguas Calientes. Our staff will be at the train station to meet you and take you to your hotel. You will have the afternoon free to visit the local museum or relax at the thermal baths. In the evening, our guide will visit your hotel to provide you with all the information you need for the guided tour of Machu Picchu.
DAY 2: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
In the early morning you will have two options for the ascent to Machu Picchu: the first option is to walk up to the ruins, setting off at around 4:30 a.m. in order to see the sunrise; or you can choose to take a 30-minute bus ride up to Machu Picchu. Buses leave every 15 minutes. Upon our arrival at the ruins, we will meet our guide and the rest of the group, and begin a guided tour that will last for around two hours. We will tour Machu Picchu on foot, stopping at the most important attractions, where the guide will explain the history and significance of the citadel and you can take photos. At the end of the tour, you will have free time to continue your Machu Picchu visit, or to visit the Inca Bridge or Sun Gate. At the agreed time, we will leave the ruins behind and take one of the buses back to the small town of Aguas Calientes. Here, we will catch the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our staff will be waiting to take you back to the city of Cusco.

Whether you are short on time or just prefer to do a shorter part of the Inca trail this tour does not disappoint. Our guide Jhimmy was amazing. I have some knee issues and he was very patient and made several stops. He also was very knowlegeable. We passed several ruin sites along the way to Machu Picchu. Highly recommend! Posted on LexDVerified AMAZING, thanks Andy Andy was a super guide, really funny and patient, it was an amazing experience, i 100% recommanded !
